The last US space shuttle landed yesterday. It’s over. Many times, I watched the space shuttle (and the space station) go by in the night sky. I still remember when we watched the astronauts land on the moon in 1969.

This sad situation underlines reality: The USA no longer has the ability to bring people to earth orbit. The Russian (i.e., Soviet) Soyuz, first launched 45 years ago, is reliable and will continue to service the space station.
